Grand Knight's Message

Brother Knights,

Thank you for electing me Grand Knight for this fraternal year.  I pledge to serve this Council to the best of my ability.  It is a challenging job to lead our Council and achieve all objectives.  I am going to need your help.  Greg Cordova has stepped up to be our Programs Director.  I have great confidence in his abilities and he is going to need your help too.  We are going to build out leadership opportunities for you to be involved with.  There will be directors for Church, Community, Council, Respect Life and Family Activities.  Greg Clement has agreed to be our Meals Coordinator for all Council Meals.  He will need your help to prepare our meals.   Our Council has the best meals in the District and I know we will continue and enhance our meals with Greg’s leadership.

August is our month to sell briskets for Labor Day.  This is an important fund raiser for us.  Look for emails asking you to participate in sales.  We will be selling on the weekends of August 14th and August 21st at all Masses.   Brisket cooking starts on August 28th.  There will be a Corporate Communion on August 14th in celebration of our founder Fr. Michael McGivney at the 9:00 AM Mass.

We are hosting a fund raiser dinner on September 17th for our Chaplin Fr. Simon.  The proceeds are to help in his Ministry for Congolese Natives who are newly here in the Houston / Galveston diocese.  Please support this activity by planning to attend and invite others to join you.

Brother Knights let us be visible to our Parish in all things we do.   I suggest that whenever you attend Mass or participate in any Parish activity wear your Knights Shirt or at least your Council Badge.   Visibility is important as we grow our Council and we will demonstrate to the Parish all that we as Knights do.

Thank you and God Bless You,

Joe Chirco, Grand Knight

Chaplain's Message

During this Lenten season, I pray that you may open your heart and listen to the word of God and prepare yourself to receive Jesus Christ as our savior. I pray also that God may give you the necessary grace needed to improve yourself spiritually as well as all other aspects of your life. All powerful God, you are the light of the Word, may you send the Holy Spirit, your angels and archangels among my dear friends, that they may be strengthened by the Holy Spirit. Bless their families, bring love among them, open their hearts to receive your mercy that they may forgive others. Bring peace to the couple who are struggling in their relationship, cure those who are sick, keep safe those who are traveling and guide those who are in uncomfortable situations at their work and others activities. Help them to receive Jesus Christ as our savior with a clean heart. We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Fr. Simon Kipiti

District Deputy's Message

Worthy Brothers,  As the fraternal year draws to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you and the Officers of Council 11343 for a successful and charitable year. A lot has been accomplished.  But this is not surprising due the nature and history of the Council.  The steadfast commitment to Charity,Unity and Fraternity shows in all of your programs.

The new Fraternal Year should be even better as the next slate of Officers and Directors prepare themselves for the upcoming tasks.  Show your Brother Knights the lessons of Unity and Fraternity... Make yourselves available to work with them to bring about success in your council programs.

I want to take a moment and sincerely thank the Officers & Directors for a splendid job, especially Grand Knight, Cliff Buede for taking charge and moving the Council forward in the ideals of Columbianism.
